Andre’ S. Tatibouet.  President of Hawaii Hotel Consultants, LLC and Founder of Aston Hotel and Resorts. Aston became one of Hawaii’s largest hotel, condominium and property management companies, handling over 5,000 rooms and 38 properties. Tatibouet has built, owned or managed more than 70 hotel/condominium properties in Hawaii, including the Pacific Beach Hotel and the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower iconic hotels directly overlooking famed Waikiki Beach on prime locations along Kalakaua Avenue. Tatibouet is known as one of the originators of the “condotel” concept which is now utilized by hundreds of developers and operators worldwide.

Tatibouet is the third generation of a European family that settled in Honolulu just 100 years ago. His grandfather, an architect and builder, first built garden apartments for the typical long-stay visitor to the islands in those early days of tourism. Later, Tatibouet’s mother built a 15 room hotel, which over the years grew to 85 rooms, where Tatibouet grew and learned the hotel business from the bottom up. Shortly after graduating from Punahou School and while attending the University of Hawaii, he undertook building his first hotel, comprised of 14 rooms in Waikiki.

By the 1970’s Tatibouet’s hotel company grew to include hotel/condominiums such as the well-known Aston Kaanapali Shores on Maui (a luxury, 463 unit condo project on the beach at Kaanapali, that sold out at ground-breaking for $109 Million). On Oahu in Waikiki, Tatibouet consulted with Haseko to develop the Island Colony (a 740-unit, 44-story condotel development that sold out in five months).

Aston subsequently acquired a 20 year management contract. In partnership with Horita Realty Corp, Tatibouet developed the Waikiki Sunset Condotel ( a 435-unit, 38-story condominium project that sold out in four months). Much later, Tatibouet developed the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower (a 140-unit luxury condominium, next to the Hyatt Regency, that sold out for $54 million in seventeen months).

In 1998, Tatibouet sold Aston Hotels and Resorts to Resort Quest International and has since actively consulted and been involved in hotel acquisitions, renovations and conversions.
